 Paducah Public Schools to Continue Non-Traditional Instruction and Tornado Takeout Through Spring Break, April 6-10
March 26
Students who have paper packets of assignments will turn in their completed assignments and pick up a new packet Friday, March 27. See the news summary below for bus schedules and specific instructions. 
March 20
In keeping with Governor Beshear’s recommendation that all Kentucky Schools stop in-person instruction, Paducah Public Schools Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days will be extended through Friday, April 17, 2020. This closure is a proactive approach to limit exposure to COVID-19 within our community.
Here is the schedule for the coming weeks:
March 23 – March 27 NTI Days
March 30 – April 3 NTI Days
April 6 - April 10  NTI Days
April 13 – April 17 NTI Days

As a school district, we are prepared to provide continuity of services for both learning and nutrition. Teachers will be providing instructional services using Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI). Our food service staff will continue preparing meals for delivery according to the schedule that is already in place.

Paper packets will be delivered to students Wednesday, March 18 at the building where they attend schools. Online students will not receive paper packets. For a complete list of instructions and bus stops, see the link in the news summary below.

Paducah Public Schools will offer takeout meal delivery beginning Monday, March 16.

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, until further notice – buses will be at all stops from 10:30 - 11:00 AM.

Baseball Defeats Massac, Hosts First Round of Tournament

The Paducah Middle baseball team defeated Massac County 7-2 to sweep the series with them this season. The Varsity Team got solid pitching performances from starter, Eric Riffe, who allowed only 1 hit, while striking out 6 batters in 3 innings, and Rodriguez Thomas, who threw a 2 hitter in 4 innings and striking out 4.

Paducah Middle Baseball Defeats Massac, Loses to Lone Oak

The Paducah Middle baseball team defeated Massac County 8-5 on August 29. Leading the hit parade for the Tornado were Jackson Fristoe, 2 for 3 with 2 runs, Eric Riffe, 2 for 4 with 2 runs, Jaylen Jernigan, 2 for 4, and others with a hit each were, Elijah Pleasants, Jordan Knox, and Jayce France. In the September 3 games against Lone Oak, the JV team lost 12-3. Jayce France and Reese Hutchins each went 1 for 2. Crossing the plate for the Tornado were France, Kolbie Baird, and Sammy Mundy. The Varsity Team lost a close one by the score of 2-1. Varsity team received a great pitching performance by Rodriguez Thomas, who threw a complete game, allowing only 5 hits, walking one batter, and allowing 2 unearned runs. Elijah Pleasants led the offensive by going 2 for 3 and scoring a run. Eric Riffe and Kolbie Baird had one hit each.

PMS Baseball Splits Round Robin

The Paducah Middle School baseball team split their round robin games this weekend at Brooks Stadium, by defeating St. Mary in the opener 6-5 and losing to Livingston County by the score of 5-2…In the opener vs. St. Mary, Rodriguez Thomas pitched a complete game to get the victory for the Tornado. The offense was led by Jaylen Jernigan, who went 2-2 with a run scored, and Jordan Knox, who went 1-1 with a walk and scored a run. Also crossing the plate were Eric Riffe, Malachi Kirby, Sammy Mundy, and Thomas…In the second game, Paducah got down early 5-0 and could not generate enough offense to make a comeback. The offense was led by Eric Riffe and Jayce France, each going 1-2 and scoring a run. The following players recorded one hit apiece: Sammy Mundy, Bret Bundy and Elijah Pleasants.

The PMS baseball team split their doubleheader on Saturday at Reidland, losing game one to Lone Oak, 8-4, and defeating Reidland in second game, 2-0.

Baseball Drops Two to Marshall

The Paducah Middle baseball team lost both games of the doubleheader against Marshall County Middle School last night, 7-1 in the first game and 7-2 in the nightcap. Playing without two regulars, the team battled to the end and saw a lot of positives from several members of the team.

PMS Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Graves

Paducah Middle School baseball team split the doubleheader with Graves County last night, outslugging their opponent to win 15-10 in the first game, and losing the second game by a score of 5-4 in the last inning. In the first game, PMS pounded out 15 hits, led by Reese Butler and Isaac Humphrey with 3 hits each; followed by Andrew Shannon and Clayton Wilson with two hits apiece. Alex (Darrell) Reeves took the mound and got the win. Congratulations also go out to Harrison Kelley who got his first career hit at PMS.

Baseball Eighth Graders Honored

Paducah Middle's Eighth grade baseball players were honored at the final game against Cairo last night (September 17) at Noble Park. PMS defeated Cairo 7-2 to get the win. You can see pictures from the game here.

Tornado Baseball Takes Two At Carlisle County

The baseball team played well in the double header on Saturday, September 6 against Carlisle County, winning the first game 17 to 1 and the second game 7 to 2. All players were instrumental in convincing wins this weekend. Callen Aldridge led the team in steals with 6 followed by Andre Strayhorn, Seth Wyatt, and Hunter Harmon who all had four steals apiece.

Baseball Team Wins At Meridian

Great job by the baseball team last night in a six to zero victory over Meridian Jr. High School. Seth Wyatt pitched a seven inning shut out that was held together with a great defensive team. Meanwhile, Logan Cook lead the team with 3 hits, two RBI's and a stolen base. Corey Nance had a great night two RBI's and a stolen base followed up by McCall Overstreet who went two for two with a stolen base. All players showed their finest in an excellent victory.

Baseball Team Splits With Century

Paducah Middle School baseball team played a doubleheader on Saturday against Century Junior High in Southern Illinois. The games were split with a 7-5 loss and an 11-4 victory over an excellent team. Hunter Harmon led the team with a double and a single giving him three RBI’s followed by Logan Cook with two RBI’s and a double. Justin Holt was able to help the team by getting on base four out of five at bat. Overall, it was a great team effort for all players.

Baseball Team Plays at Graves Thursday

Paducah Middle School baseball team had a tough loss Tuesday against Massac. Logan Cook led the team with outstanding defense on third base and a double and two singles to lead the team in RBI's with three. They had a great effort and look forward to playing at Graves on Thursday, August 21. They will play again on Saturday, August 23.
