Paducah Public Schools Updates for March 16 - April 17 Closing
March 30
 Paducah Public Schools to Continue Non-Traditional Instruction and Tornado Takeout Through Spring Break, April 6-10
 
March 26
Students who have paper packets of assignments will turn in their completed assignments and pick up a new packet Friday, March 27. See the news summary below for bus schedules and specific instructions. 
 
March 20
In keeping with Governor Beshear’s recommendation that all Kentucky Schools stop in-person instruction, Paducah Public Schools Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days will be extended through Friday, April 17, 2020. This closure is a proactive approach to limit exposure to COVID-19 within our community.
 
Here is the schedule for the coming weeks:
March 23 – March 27 NTI Days
March 30 – April 3 NTI Days
April 6 - April 10  NTI Days
April 13 – April 17 NTI Days

As a school district, we are prepared to provide continuity of services for both learning and nutrition. Teachers will be providing instructional services using Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI). Our food service staff will continue preparing meals for delivery according to the schedule that is already in place.

Paper packets will be delivered to students Wednesday, March 18 at the building where they attend schools. Online students will not receive paper packets. For a complete list of instructions and bus stops, see the link in the news summary below.

Paducah Public Schools will offer takeout meal delivery beginning Monday, March 16.

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, until further notice – buses will be at all stops from 10:30 - 11:00 AM.

All sites will serve breakfast and lunch. See the news summary below for a link to a list of Tornado Takeout stops.

Paducah Middle Students Reach Semi-Finals at State Speech Tournament

Four Paducah Middle School eighth graders reached the semi-final round of the state speech tournament held on the campus of the University of Kentucky on March 28-29, 2014. Semi-finalists were Ella Bailey in solo acting, Ella Bailey/Jamie Black in improvisational duo, Marco Garcia in impromptu speaking, and Alexandra Wisner in prose. More +

Paducah Middle Speech Team Qualifies Eight for State Tournament

The Paducah Middle School speech team took top honors in three individual categories at the Murray Regional Speech Tournament on Saturday, February 1 at Murray State University. The team also qualified eight members for the state tournament and finished second in the overall team competition. More +

Paducah Middle Speech Places Fifth at Tiger Town Invitational

The Paducah Middle School speech team opened their season with a fifth place finish at the Tiger Town Invitational, held at Murray State University on Saturday, November 9. More +

Speech Team Organizational Meeting August 22

The speech team will have an organizational meeting on Thursday, August 22 in the library from 2:30-3:30. Speech team is open to anyone who is interested in competing in events such as public speaking, broadcasting, acting, and storytelling. Students and parents are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the team. Paducah Middle Earns Honors at Kentucky State Speech Tournaments

Michael-Ellen Walden, of Paducah Middle School, won the Kentucky State Middle School Speech Championship in Interpretation of Literature. In only their second year of existence, the Paducah Middle School team placed eighth overall out of 38 schools. More +

Paducah Middle Speech Team Wins Region Runner-Up

The Paducah Middle School speech team took top honors in four categories at the regional tournament on February 9 at Murray State University. The team qualified 13 students for the state tournament and finished second in the overall competition. More +

Paducah Middle Speech Qualifies Seven for State at Junior Hilltopper Tournament

The Paducah Middle School speech team turned in a strong performance at the Junior Hilltopper tournament at Western Kentucky University on December 1. Maddie Ybarzabal placed first in Solo Acting, Michael Ellen Walden placed second in Interpretation of Literature, Claire Kelly and Caroline Meiners placed second in Duo Acting, Chloe Bilak and Grace Denton placed fifth in Duo Acting, and Will Denton placed fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking. Ybarzabal, Walden, Kelly/Meiners, and Bilak/Denton all qualified to compete in the State Tournament in March. More +

Kelly, Hancock take top honors at McCracken County 4H Speech Contest

Paducah Middle School speech team members Claire Kelly, 7th grade, and Meg Hancock, 8th grade, earned top honors at the McCracken County 4 H Speech Contest on February 20th at St. Mary High School. Kelly captured first place for her original oratory "Mumbushi's Story" and Hancock took runner up for "Meg Hancock - Narrator." More +
