Paducah Public Schools Updates for March 16 - April 17 Closing
March 30
 Paducah Public Schools to Continue Non-Traditional Instruction and Tornado Takeout Through Spring Break, April 6-10
March 26
Students who have paper packets of assignments will turn in their completed assignments and pick up a new packet Friday, March 27. See the news summary below for bus schedules and specific instructions. 
March 20
In keeping with Governor Beshear’s recommendation that all Kentucky Schools stop in-person instruction, Paducah Public Schools Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days will be extended through Friday, April 17, 2020. This closure is a proactive approach to limit exposure to COVID-19 within our community.
Here is the schedule for the coming weeks:
March 23 – March 27 NTI Days
March 30 – April 3 NTI Days
April 6 - April 10  NTI Days
April 13 – April 17 NTI Days

As a school district, we are prepared to provide continuity of services for both learning and nutrition. Teachers will be providing instructional services using Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI). Our food service staff will continue preparing meals for delivery according to the schedule that is already in place.

March 17
Paper packets will be delivered to students Wednesday, March 18 at the building where they attend schools. Online students will not receive paper packets. For a complete list of instructions and bus stops, see the link in the news summary below. 
March 14, 2020
Paducah Public Schools will offer takeout meal delivery beginning Monday, March 16.

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, until further notice – buses will be at all stops from 10:30 - 11:00 AM.

All sites will serve breakfast and lunch. See the news summary below for a link to a list of Tornado Takeout stops.

Speech Team's Criner, Raber, Rogers Named to Kentucky All-State Speech Team

Three members of the Paducah Tilghman Speech and Debate Team have been named to the 2018-19 pre-season NSDA Kentucky All-State Speech Team by the National Speech and Debate Association, the oldest and largest speech and debate honor society in the country. The All-State Team includes the top 150 National Speech and Debate team members in the state as determined by competition and service points earned throughout high school.
Opening the season as National Speech and Debate Association Kentucky All-State Team members are seniors Grace Raber and Addie Rogers and junior Kate Criner.

Speech Team's Price, Shute, and Lambert Named Kentucky Commonwealth Ambassadors

Paducah Tilghman seniors Joseph Price and Angelea Shute and junior Samuel Lambert, all members of the Tilghman Speech and Debate Team, have been named Kentucky Commonwealth Ambassadors by Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes. The Commonwealth Ambassador Award is presented to young citizens who demonstrate exceptional character and citizenship through their contributions to the community, state, or nation. More +

Wisner Nabs Two Honors at Krider Invitational

Lillian Wisner (grade 11) of the PTHS Speech Team brought home two trophies at the Krider Invitational at Henry County High School in Paris, TN on Saturday, Nov. 3. She placed third overall in Prose Interpretation and sixth overall in Program Oral Interpretation. More +

PTHS Speech Team Members Earn 6 Medals at Marshall County High School Invitational

The PTHS Speech Team brought home six awards from the Marshall County High School Invitational on Saturday, November 10.

After competing in three preliminary rounds, five Tilghman students advanced to finals.

Junior Kate Criner placed 2nd overall in Dramatic Interpretation, Junior Julie Mohs placed 3rd overall in Storytelling, Junior Shioneka Farr placed 5th overall in Poetry and in Program Oral Interpretation, Junior Erin Stafford placed 6th overall in Poetry, and Senior Angelea Shute placed 6th overall in Humorous Interpretation.

Alfaro-Jackson and Mohs Earn Tournament Championship Titles at Murray

Paducah Tilghman Speech Team members Tatiyannah Alfaro-Jackson and Julie Mohs, both juniors, were named tournament champions at the Murray High School Invitational on Saturday, November 17. Alfaro-Jackson earned her first place award in Poetry, and Mohs earned her championship title in Storytelling.
With 14 individual team awards, the PTHS Speech Team placed second overall.

The Paducah Tilghman Speech Team placed second overall with 21 individual awards at the Calloway County Invitational on Saturday, December 1. Tournament champions included Shioneka Farr in Poetry, Julie Mohs in Storytelling and the team of Angelea Shute and Jake Taylor in Improvisational Duo. More +

Speech Team Earns Honors at Bowling Green High School Christmas Classic

Seven Tilghman Speech Team students earned individual awards at the Bowling Green High School Christmas Classic on Saturday, December 15.
Two students placed 2nd in their respective categories among all those competing: Angelea Shute in Humorous Interpretation and Lois Akpabio in Declamation.
