Tilghman Speech Team Members Rack Up Awards at Alben Barkley Open Inaugural Tournament

At the first–ever Alben Barkley Open Speech Tournament Saturday, November 16, 2013, Paducah Tilghman Speech Team members spent most of the awards ceremony taking turns shuttling on and off the stage receiving awards. The Tilghman team garnered eighteen individual wins, 25 additional top 3 finishes in preliminary rounds; earned nine National Forensics League recognitions for advanced competition, moved another team member into a position on Kentucky’s All State Speech Team and had another achieve the Academic All American distinction. Ten Named to Kentucky All-State Speech Team

Ten members of the PTHS Speech and Forensic team have been named to the Kentucky All-State Team by the National Forensic League, the oldest and largest speech and debate honor society in the country. Kentucky's All-State Team includes the top 150 National Forensic Team members in the state as determined by competition and service points earned throughout high school.
