=        Tornado wrestling is having a fundraiser for the new year.  They are selling Boston butts for $35 and full racks of ribs for $20.  Pick up will be 12/30 between 4-7 at PTHS.   Order form attached.



=        Football banquet next Monday, 12/16 at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Football players, if any of you didn’t get a form, please stop by the office to get one, and turn it in tomorrow completed.

=        Paducah Middle School will be holding a Black History Trivia bowl that will take place in late February (date TBD). If your child is interesting in participating, they may sign up during lunch starting 12/3 or they may see Mr. Snardon. The Black History Trivia bowl will be held in a team format with a maximum of 4 students per teams. Practices will meet each Thursday after school from 2:20-3:30 (students must provide their own transportation).  Practices will start on December 12th.Prizes will be given to the winning team.  Contact Mr. Snardon for more details.



=        Paducah Middle has Moonpies for sale.  $1.00 for a chocolate, banana, or vanilla double decker moon pie.  $9.00 for a box of 9.  Great Stocking stuffer or gift for that Moonpie lover in the family.



=        If you are looking for a fun family activity to do over the next couple of weeks, why not create a Christmas ornament or holiday decoration for the library? This year we want to decorate our library with ornaments/decorations created by students and their families.   The ornament or decoration must be based on a favorite book or book character.  Due Date is Dec 13.  See Mrs. Ringstaff for details.



=        Paducah Middle will be collecting cans for their Annual Feed the Grinch Food Drive. Each team has been requested to bring a certain can food item. We will be collecting from Dec 2- tomorrow, Dec 13. Class with the highest donations will receive a Pizza Party.

=        Tonight girls’ basketball takes on the Heath Pirates at home and the boys will play at Heath starting at 5:30PM.  Mr. Durfee will be out where the buses load after school in case there is any last minute interest in the Elks free throw contest.  Today at the end of the school day is the deadline to sign up.

=        All 7th & 8th grade girls’ basketball players going to Inman tonight should report to Mrs. Mann’s room right after school. Dinner will be provided for all players.



=        Students who stay after school must be supervised by an adult. Any student who has a late practice for a club/sporting event must leave and return at practice time. This is for the safety and supervision of students.  Any student in Paducah Middle after 2:30 who is unsupervised, will be asked to leave. Please make sure that you have made proper arrangements for your child concerning, practices, clubs, etc.

=        Included with parent announcements this week is our weekly “Big Rocks,” - a concept taught through our Leader in Me program.  Big Rocks outlines the deadlines, tests, quizzes, projects, due dates, etc. for students in their core classes.  Some dates and activities may change, but hopefully, this will provide parents with a starting point for talking with their child about his or her upcoming assignments.

=        Lego Robotics will be today, Thursday of this week (11/7) due to Election Day.



=        Teen ambassadors is cancelled today, and will meet November 21st in the library from 2:30 – 3:15.



=        Tornado Star will host a drug-free party, held during ENCORE classes.  Students can play volleyball, basketball and/or dance.  Students are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate.



=        Starting November 4th Students who have been assigned an administrative after-school detention (meaning assigned from a principal) must serve their detention on Tuesdays or Thursdays in room 214 (ISD room) from 2:30-3:15. Parents and guardians, if your child has been assigned detention, please make arrangements prior to the date of their serving. Thanks!

• Starting November 4th Students who have been assigned an administrative after-school detention (meaning assigned from a principal) must serve their detention on Tuesdays or Thursdays in room 214 (ISD room) from 2:30-3:15. Parents and guardians, if your child has been assigned detention. please make arrangements prior to the date of their serving. Thanks!

• Beta Club will be collecting items for the McCracken Co Humane Society. (Food, treats, bowls, toys) Collections can be given to Mr. May. Deadline for collections will be November 30.

=        Fellowship of Christian Athletes [FCA] will start tomorrow and begin meeting in Mr. Gentry’s room each Friday morning at 7:00AM for those interested.  



=        Any 6th grade student who is interested in competing during the 6th grade showcase in any written assessment area (math, science, social studies, language arts or art & humanities) needs to see Mr. Rushing ASAP. We are in need of 3 test takers for each subject area as well as 3 students for written composition.

• If you plan on participating on the Speech Team this year, dues need to be paid to Mrs. Harris by October 3, 2019. The amount is $35. The money is used for competition fees and speech pieces. We will start meeting after fall break and our first competition is scheduled for December 14, 2019.

• We WILL NOT be having our annual LEAD Night on 10/1. At one time, it was tentatively placed on the district calendar, but we are not having it that evening. We will let you know at a later date when our LEAD Night is scheduled.

• Band & Strings
Thursday & Friday: ALL CHOCOLATE MONEY and ORDER FORMS ARE DUE FIRST THING FRIDAY MORNING to the band room.
Please bring the money and order form to the band room when you arrive at school—do not wait until class starts.  Bring it first thing to Ms. Williams.
Don’t forget to bring it to school with you—we must have all orders and money on Friday!

• Baseball vs. St. Mary (away – at St. Mary) today, Tuesday, 9/24 at 6:00.

• For Band & Strings students: This week we will have after school help on Thursday, 9/26 from 2:30-3:15pm. (No Tuesday or Wednesday after school practice this week).

• Band & Strings Students—all chocolate order forms and money are due Friday—please be prepared to bring to the band room first thing Friday morning.

• 8th grade recognition for football is this Thursday, 9/26 following the 7th grade game, which starts at 5:30…8th grade cheerleaders will be recognized as well.
