The McNabb 21st Century piano class performed for morning assembly on March 28. Their class is a part of the 21st Century program. The program is designed to give the students of McNabb Elementary School life enriching experiences. Services are offered Monday through Thursday afternoons from 3:00 until 5:30 when school is in session. Services include but are not limited to the following: USDA Snack program, tutoring, homework help, academic enrichment in reading, mathematics, and science, and other enrichment activities promoting music, art, health & nutrition, conflict resolution, technology, and more.

Danette Humphrey, a member of the Paducah Board of Education, visited McNabb Elementary Head Start classes to read with students on January 22. Humphrey's visit was to help promote the upcoming "Sid the Science Kid" live show at the Carson Center.

The "Sid the Science Kid" live show is based on the PBS series, which examines scientific questions through the eyes of Sid and his friends.

McNabb fourth grader Zabrina Hunter (middle) was honored with an award for second place for her poetry entry at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay and Poetry Contest. The awards ceremony, which was hosted by the Paducah/McCracken County NAACP and sponsored by AT&T, was held at Paducah Middle School on January19.

Students from McNabb and Clark elementaries demonstrated a Project Fit relay race in which students from each school performed certain exercises to earn cups to build a sculpture in a timed race at the PTHS vs. Marshall basketball game Monday night.

Baptist Health Paducah sponsored the basketball games as a way to remind everyone that good fitness is key to a healthy heart. Baptist Health has awarded competative grants for Project Fit America to six area schools.  Project Fit schools include fitness in their curriculum and have special playgrounds available to promote family fitness.

McNabb Has Best Attendance for the Week of October 28 PDF Print E-mail

Congrats to McNabb Elementary School for having 98.78% attendance last week!!!  Kudos to the other elementary schools as well for going over the 97% mark as well with 97.31% for Clark and 97.18% for Morgan.

The PTHS football took advantage of a bye week to help at the haunted house that was part of the McNabb Elementary Fall Festival on November 1.

"As you can see from the photo, this is why these guys wear helmets," said PTHS football coach Shawn McDermott laughingly. "The staff at McNabb was so pleased to have these young men come work. They did an awesome job. We are fortunate to have such great role models for our elementary students."
