Paducah’s City Hall is proud to host The Arts! Emphasis on Harlem Renaissance & Black Arts Movement exhibit. More than 90 pieces of art made by 4th and 5th grade students from McNabb Elementary are showcased at City Hall located at 300 South 5th Street. The community can view the artwork Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., from November 6 through December 6. There is no charge to tour the exhibit.
This exhibition is a collaborative event by the following partners:
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Beta Omega Omega Chapter;
McNabb Elementary, KIDS Company TOO! Family Resource Center; and
City of Paducah.
Dr. Bernice Belt serves on the Beta Omega Omega Chapter’s arts committee. Dr. Belt says, “The emphasis for this particular public event salutes both the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movement. Through this collaboration, school staff incorporated this emphasis into their curriculum, and the students created their own representative paintings. With the great work of multiple staff members at McNabb and support from the parents, 90 pieces are displayed in the beautiful, renovated atrium of City Hall.”
Please note that City Hall will be closed November 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
