Burr Nominated for State Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award
“I worked with Olivia for 25 years and can attest to her dedication to serving children and families," said Jan Roberson Stogner, who nominated Burr for the award. "I know Olivia will continue to find ways to help others wherever she goes and I am honored to have known her and worked with her."

Burr said attending the awards ceremony was an honor.

"The awards ceremony was excellent. Both the governor and the lieutenant governor were there so we were honored," Burr said. "The opportunity to earn a college degree was a gift that was given to me by a lady I never met who established a scholarship for workers in the garment industry. It's been a privilege for me to have an opportunity to pass that gift along by working with children."
