Tilghman Track and Field team wins Regional championship
The Lady Tornado came in first in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x800-meter relays, as well as a second-place finish in the 4x400. Aleja Grant took home championships in the 800-, 1600-, and 3200-meter runs. Tanaisha Jordan had a first place finish in the 100-meter dash, and Tajhanique Wood won the 200-meter dash.
On the boys side, Tilghman won the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400-meter relay races. Lenny Grace placed first in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash. Nick Shelby won the 200-meter dash, and Marcus Corbett finished first in the 300-meter hurdles. Phillip Pruitt won the triple and long jump, and Tyler Scarbrough won the discus for the Blue Tornado.
The Lady Tornado relay team is seeded in the top ten for this weekend’s state championship in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x800-meter runs. The girls’ are also top ten seeds in the 100, 800, 1600, and 3200-meter races. The boys’ relay team is seeded in the top ten for the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400-meter runs. They are also top ten seeds in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles, the 200 and 400-meter dash, and the triple jump. The Track and Field State Championships will be held in Lexington on May 22-23. ‪#‎GoBigBlue‬
