Four PTHS Students Get Perfect Scores on ACT Sections
Senior Milan Doan scored a 36 on English section of the ACT. Doan is a member of the speech and debate team and the National Honor Society. She competes on Tilghman’s swim team. She will attend the University of Louisville in the fall as a Henry Vogt Scholar. Her parents are Minh and Shih-Fen Doan.
Junior Reese Butler made perfect scores on both the math and science sections of the ACT. Butler is a member of the academic team, mock trial team, National Honor Society, and Beta Club. He also competes on Tilghman’s soccer, football, and baseball teams. He is a graduate of the Paducah Chamber of Commerce’s Youth LEAD program. Butler will attend the 2015 Governor’s Scholars Program this summer at Morehead State University where he will study business, accounting, and entrepreneurship. His parents are Lori and Danny Butler.
Junior Meg Hancock made a perfect score on the reading section of the ACT. Hancock is a member of the academic team, speech and debate team, mock trial team, National Honor Society, and Beta Club. She also plays the viola in Tilghman’s orchestra. She serves on the Mayor’s Anti-Bullying Council and is an intern on the Paducah Human Rights Commission. Hancock will attend the 2015 Governor’s Scholars Program this summer at Bellarmine University where she will study philosophy. Her parents are Sid and Justin Hancock.
Sophomore Claire Kelly scored a perfect 36 on the science section of the ACT. Kelly is a member of the academic team, speech and debate team, mock trial team, and Beta Club. She is member of the concert choir as well as the female a cappella group Concordia. Kelly will be performing this summer in “Mary Poppins” at the Market House Theatre. Her parents are Robin and Keith Kelly.
