Ware chosen as McNabb's Ambassador of Excellence

“Perseverance” is continuing in a course of action without regard to discouragement or opposition. More than perseverance, you might even call this "determination." For a student to push through and grow two years and three months over the course of one school year in reading and a full year in math in the first semester of school shows true determination. Cristin Ware accomplished this feat without complaining while maintaining a wonderful rapport with her fellow classmates and teachers. It is not every day that a student comes into the school year with the grit necessary to overcome the odds and maintain excellence in academics when beginning the race behind the average participant. Further, it is equally difficult to hold your head up when you can physically see others running the race miles ahead of you. Cristin ran her race stride for stride allowing her teachers to coach her to her highest trajectory. "Proud may be an understatement," agreed her fifth grade teachers Candice Newbern, Maebeth Harbison, and Geco Ross. Cristin has worked tirelessly to learn as much as possible and has honed her craft, ultimately earning her the outstanding distinction as the Most Improved student in the 5th Grade class. She is a true Ambassador of Excellence, as she has finished the race with remarkable commendations and pride. Cristin’s parents are Lakisha and Michael Uzzell.
