A "Thank You" From Paducah Public Schools and McCracken County Schools

“When the pandemic hit a year ago, our employees stepped up in creative, inspiring ways,” McCracken County Schools Superintendent Steve Carter said. “Staff delivered meals to students’ homes. Teachers created virtual classrooms. Our Family Resource Centers helped deliver homework, provide groceries and toiletries — the list goes on. I am inspired every day by our staff and their willingness to serve our community.”

“As I look back at the efforts of our faculty and staff to know each and every child by name and need during the unprecedented events of the past year, I am thankful and amazed,” said Paducah Public Schools superintendent Dr. Donald Shively. “Their dedication and resilience are extraordinary, and their work has laid a foundation we can build on as our students return to school.”

Of course, none of these efforts would have succeeded without the partnership of our parents at each step of the way. When our schools closed, you stepped into the breach and joined us in making every effort to ensure that your children’s education continued. You made great sacrifices and rose to meet the constant challenges of the Pandemic Year.

As McCracken County Schools and Paducah City Schools look forward to the return of all students to in-person learning, we want to say “thank you” once more to every citizen in Paducah and McCracken County for your contributions and sacrifices.
