JoAvion Starks signing KSU

Paducah Tilghman senior JoAvion “Avi” Starks committed to play football at Kentucky State University at a signing ceremony held January 11 at Paducah Tilghman High School.

As a wide receiver for the Blue Tornado, Starks had over a 1000 yards in receptions and helped the team to a 13-1 record and a berth in the KHSAA Class 4A semi-final game.

“Avi and I have a special relationship because of the time we’ve spent together,” said PTHS Head Football Coach Sean Thompson. “It’s ended well and will continue to be well because of where we are at and because of the work that he put in. We love JoAvion and appreciate everything he’s done for us.”

“I want to say ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has supported me and been on this journey with me,” said Starks. “I thank my teammates for being competitive and pushing me. I appreciate all the new relationships I’ve made ay Tilghman. It’s been fun.”
