Ethan Rowton has been named head coach of Paducah Tilghman boys and girls tennis.

Rowton (PTHS ’11) played tennis at PTHS, where he was an All-State competitor and State Runner-Up in doubles. He went on to play collegiate tennis at Saint Catharine College, competing at the #1 singles and #1 doubles positions.

Rowton taught tennis at the Lexington Tennis Club for four years, working with junior, high school, and adult players in both instructional and competitive settings. He later returned to Paducah Tilghman as assistant tennis coach from 2019–2024, where he contributed to multiple boys’ regional team championships as well as regional singles and doubles titles.

“Paducah Tilghman is proud to have Coach Rowton as head tennis coach,” said Paducah Tilghman Athletics Director David Dobbins. “He has skills and experience as both a player and a coach that will help our tennis program carry on the tradition of excellence for which Paducah Tilghman is known.”

“I take great pride in Paducah Tilghman athletics and am passionate about continuing to grow the tennis program,” said Coach Rowton. “I am a third-generation tennis coach—following my grandfather, Paul Rowton, and my father, Nathan Rowton—both of whom played major roles in developing tennis throughout the tri-state region. From their teaching, I learned the value of integrity, respect, and hard work—principles that shape how I coach and lead today. My goal is to build a team-first culture that develops disciplined, competitive players while representing Paducah Tilghman with class.”
