Paducah Tilghman High School juniors Brayden James, Griffin Holland, Paxton Beck, McCall Moore, Sasha Black, Caroline Adkins, and Max Canlas have been named Centre Fellows in Centre College's merit based scholarship program.
The Centre Fellows Scholarship is selective and recognizes high-achieving and engaged high school juniors who would benefit from a liberal arts and sciences education. There is no commitment on the recipient’s part, and students are still eligible to compete for higher awards. Candidates must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5, maintain a challenging course load comprised of some of the highest courses available at their school, be an outstanding citizen of their high school and community as demonstrated by various personal commitments, and have a sincere interest in a liberal arts and sciences education. Centre Fellows are guaranteed to receive a $28,000 minimum scholarship per year for four years at Centre College should they attend there. Fellows are eligible for additional merit awards. The Centre Fellows Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards some of the nation's brightest, most involved high school juniors.
“These exceptional juniors are laying a strong academic and community-minded foundation that Centre College values in its students,” said Julie Price, PTHS College and Scholarship Consultant. “We’re so proud that they are already being recognized and rewarded for their hard work and contributions to their school and community.”
