Josiah Patton has been chosen by Paducah Tilghman High School to be head coach for girls basketball.
A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Patton played basketball at Hopkinsville High School where he helped lead his team to three regional championships.
Patton continued his basketball career at the collegiate level, playing for Navarro College, Rock Valley College in Illinois, and eventually Fisher College in Massachusetts, where he finished his playing career. While at Rock Valley College, Josiah helped lead his team to the NJCAA National Championship game, earning All-Tournament Team honors as well as Second Team All-Region recognition.
Patton began his coaching career while attending Fisher College, working with UPNEXT Elite, an AAU program based in Hopkinsville. During his time with UPNEXT Elite, he played a key role in helping develop the program into one of the top AAU programs in Western Kentucky.
Patton later joined the coaching staff at Mayfield High School, serving as the head coach for junior varsity coach and varsity assistant. During his four years as a varsity assistant, Mayfield has compiled an impressive 81-38 record, along with one All “A” State Tournament appearance, two district championships, and a regional runner-up finish.
"We are excited to have Coach Patton join Paducah Tilghman High School as he leads our Girls Basketball program,” said athletics director David Dobbins. “As the head girls basketball coach, we are confident that his knowledge, passion, and strong work ethic will lead our girls to success."
