Paducah Public Schools proudly announces the newest class of inductees into the Paducah Tilghman High School Hall of Fame, honoring alumni who exemplify a “Tradition of Excellence.”  This year’s honorees are Ben Beaton, ’99; Jeffrey Bumpous, ’80; Judy Calhoun, ’79; Billy Jack Haskins, ’93; and Howard Moss, ’67.

Ben Beaton distinguished himself early as a multi-sport athlete and student leader before graduating summa cum laude from Centre College and earning his law degree from Columbia Law School. His career includes clerking under U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, leadership in national law practices, and appointment in 2020 as a United States District Judge for the Western District of Kentucky.

Jeffrey Bumpous has built a nationally recognized career in academic medicine, currently serving as executive vice president for health affairs and dean of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. A physician, educator, and innovator, he has advanced cancer care, authored more than 150 publications, and expanded healthcare access throughout Kentucky.

Judy Calhoun established one of the most decorated track careers in school history, winning a state championship and leading multiple championship teams before becoming an NCAA All-American at the University of Kentucky. She later returned to Paducah Tilghman to help coach multiple state champions, shaping future generations of athletes.

Billy Jack Haskins, named Kentucky “Mr. Football” and “Mr. Tilghman,” is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in state history. After leading Tilghman to a state championship appearance and setting passing records, he continued his success at the University of Kentucky as an SEC starting quarterback and team captain. Today, he is a respected business leader in Enterprise, AL and remains a community advocate and supporter of PTHS Athletics.

Howard Moss, a former student-athlete and class leader at Paducah Tilghman, served 27 years as McCracken County’s head juvenile probation officer.  In retirement, Moss protected students, staff and guests as a school resource officer at Paducah Tilghman and coached youth athletics for decades.  He made a lasting impact on generations with his compassion and guidance.

The Paducah Tilghman Hall of Fame honors alumni whose lives reflect excellence, integrity, and a commitment to others. Each inductee serves as an inspiration to current students and a testament to the strength of Tilghman’s legacy.

Applications for Hall of Fame consideration are open annually through February 1. Selected inductees are announced during Paducah Tilghman High School’s graduation ceremony and recognized at a home football game with the unveiling of their official display in the Hall of Fame.
