Middle school students (including rising sixth graders) are invited to participate in Harrison Street Serves, a middle school tennis program. The four week program is free. Participants will receive a free tennis racquet, t-shirt, water bottle, and tennis instruction. Please see the flyer for sign-up instructions. The PATC Health Science Program held a pinning ceremony for students who received certifications that will allow them to work in healthcare on Monday, May 6 at the Paducah Innovation Hub. Ten students became Certified Phlebotomy Technicians and 13 became Certified Patient Care Technicians. They took national exams to receive these certifications. To honor their hard work, they were awarded pins by their instructors and celebrated with family and loved ones in attendance.

Paducah Public Schools will dismiss early today due to inclement weather. Dismissal Schedule: PTHS, Choices and Paducah Middle: 11:30 a.m. Clark and Morgan: 12:15 p.m. McNabb and Head Start: 1:00 p.m. There will be no afternoon Head Start. All after school activities are canceled. This will insure that all our students and staff are safely home by 2:00 p.m.

Our school nurses show up each day with the mission of keeping our students and staff healthy and well. Thank you for all you do!

The PTHS Class of 2024 and their families are invited to join us for Senior Signing Day Tuesday, May 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Dinning Gym. Senior Signing Day is a highlight of our end-of-year celebration of the PTHS Class of '24 when we announce where each student will be going- work, military, technical training, or college- following graduation.

At Honors Night we celebrate the academic accomplishments of our seniors and the scholarships they have received as they look forward to their next steps after graduation. Join us on Tuesday, May 7, at 6:00 PM at the PTHS Auditorium.

Paducah Middle School social worker Shay Tyler and PTHS senior leader Fiona Caywood were honored for their impact on the community at the United Way Victory Celebration held at Walker Hall on April 30. The Victory Celebration recognizes the impact that United Way and its partners made in 2023.
Shay Tyler received the LIVE UNITED Education Award. Fiona Caywood received the LIVE UNITED youth award. Tyler and Cawood were two of twelve partners and individuals who were recognized for their action in support of United Way's causes.
"We are recognizing people who have really been game-changers for our community over the past year," said United Way of West Kentucky CEO Betsy Burkeen. "This is our celebratory event where we really just give those people who have gone above and beyond to put service over self a shout out and tell them just how grateful we are."



Jared "Mr. J" Frazier hosted his third annual Poetry Slam at Morgan Elementary School on April 30. There were smiles, laughter, and tears as Mr. J's students shared their heartfelt poetry with friends, family, teachers, and fellow students. The evening ended with Mr. J presenting gifts to honor three long-time staff who will be retiring this year: Mrs. Melony Smith, who teaches fifth grade; Mrs. Tracy Hobbs, who serves as receptionist; and Mrs. Kim Wilson, who serves as bookkeeper. Congratulations to each of you on your retirement!

The Paducah Innovation Hub will offer a three-day CTE Summer Academy to rising 9th graders.
The CTE Summer Academy will be held June 25-27 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day.
