Paducah Tilghman students joined other high schools from the region on September 21 to learn more about careers in the marine industry at a "Who Works the Rivers?" program. The event, hosted by Riverworks Discovery, touches on careers in Maritime Commerce, Culture, and Conservation.

Paducah Tilghman High School will host the West Kentucky College Expo Monday, September 19 from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm in the Paducah Tilghman High School Gymnasium. The West Kentucky College Expo is an opportunity for area high school students to meet alumni and representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities. PTHS will host Back to School Night and the West Kentucky Regional College Expo on Monday, September 19 from 5:30-7:30 PM. Everyone will start in the auditorium. Then families will have the opportunity to meet teachers and tour PTHS. Following the teacher meet and greet families can go to the Paducah Innovation Hub and Dinning gym to meet representatives from various trades, careers, military branches, and colleges from across the nation to help students start planning for their future.

The Paducah Public Schools Foundation received First Place in the 2022 Fred Paxton Challenge for Charities. The PPS Foundation received $394,916 in donations during the three-month challenge. An additional $10,000 match was added from the Paxton Foundation. "I want to say 'thank you' to each and every one of you who gave," said Superintendent Dr. Donald Shively. "The generous gifts that we have received this year shows the passion our community has for our students. Every donation, large or small, is tangible proof of your commitment to partner with us in building a better Paducah."

Paducah native Commander Billie J. Farrell visited Paducah Tilghman on August 31 to talk with students about her experiences as the first woman to lead the crew of the 225-year-old warship the USS Constitution. Farrell graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2004 and most recently served as commanding officer aboard the U.S.S. Vicksburg, a guided missile cruiser.

Here's a message from the Technology Department... Hello PTHS Parents!! Repaired student computers are now complete. We will be distributing them to your students this Thursday and Friday. In preparation, we will be sending this year’s device sign-out form home with the students. Please sign and have your student/s return their form this Thursday or Friday at the latest. We also have a digital copy of the form for you to print and sign if your student misplaces their paper copy. If your student already has their school issued device, we ask that you please still sign and return the form for the current school year. We appreciate all your patience and cooperation this year!

The Paducah Fire Department invites everyone to help local students through the Fill the Fire Truck with School Supplies campaign. Donations of school supplies and individually wrapped food items will be accepted through August 12 at any Paducah fire station and at City Hall. Paducah Fill the Firetruck
PPS building administrators, district student resource officers, and area first responders completed building tours of Paducah Tilghman High School, the Paducah Innovation Hub, Clark Elementary, and McNabb Elementary yesterday. First responders included representatives from the Paducah Police Department, Kentucky State Police, McCracken County Sheriff Department, and McCracken County Emergency Management. Tours will continue today with Paducah Middle School, Morgan Elementary, Paducah Head Start Preschool, Choices Educational Center, and the PPS District Annex scheduled. Thank you for your efforts to keep our students safe!
