The PTHS National Honor Society welcomed 33 new members at an induction ceremony held yesterday. New members included juniors Elena Adkins, Liam Black, Bella Brown, Ellie Brown, Kylie Caruthers , Fiona Caywood , Alexandria Copper, Caroline Crice, Hattie Crockett, Baylee Delk, Emma Durbin, Weslyn Durfee, Marc Garrett, Azlyn Goodyke, Reagan Hartman, Francesca Hodge, Makayla Hughes, Jacob Julian, Serenity Martinez, Landon Monroe, Kayla O’Malley, Kaiden Rodgers, Landon Snyder, Ashlyn Story, Henry Stratemeyer , Bennett Wilke, Corban Williams, Cameron Wright, and seniors Kiersa Atnip, Gabrielle Logsdon, Anistyn Thomas, Kauri Whitfield, and Lydia Wiley.
The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Current NHS officers are Kate Bidwell, president, Sloane Edwards, vice president, Ma'Hali Brown, secretary, and Alicia Durfee, treasurer.

The PTHS Vocal Music Department will present their Winter Concert on Friday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church. The event is free and open to the public.

The PTHS Instrumental Department will present their holiday concert this Thursday, December 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the PTHS Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The ring ceremony for the Class 2A State Champion PTHS baseball team will be at halftime of the PTHS Boys Basketball vs. Carlisle County game on Friday, December 2. First Class Midshipman Noah Hollar (PTHS '19) visited NJROTC cadets to talk about the Naval Academy and its application process. Hollar, a senior, will graduate from the Naval Academy in spring as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. After graduation, he will have six months of basic training in the Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia, followed by six months of flight school at Pensacola, Florida.

Paducah Tilghman African American Leadership Club members hosted a staff appreciation night at the Paducah Innovation Hub on November 15. AALC students invited a faculty or staff member that they wanted to honor. At the event, AALC students introduced the faculty or staff member they had invited, read a letter that they had written to honor their guest, and presented them with the letter and a gift. Thank you, PTHS AALC, for your encouragement!

Paducah Tilghman Football defeats Casey County 56-22 to advance to Round 3 of the KHSAA playoffs. They will play at Christian Academy Louisville on Friday, November 18. Go Big Blue!

Middle School football to state in Georgetown, KY tomorrow! For any community members that would like to send them off and wish them good luck we will meet in the Paducah Middle back parking lot by the fieldhouse tomorrow morning (Saturday, 11/12) at 6:45AM.

We were honored to have Blake Denson (PTHS '14) drop by for a visit today with our Concert Choir, where he did a masterclass with three students and sang. Blake, an internationally known opera singer who currently lives in Hamburg, Germany, is in town to perform with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra this Saturday.
