This is day one of KY Safe Schools Week. The theme is “Focus on School Safety.” The goal is to raise awareness about various aspects of school safety and empower students, teachers, parents, and the community to take proactive measures to create a safe learning environment.
I pledge to “Focus on School Safety”:
I will "frame the positive" by showing respect, kindness, and acceptance to others. I will "zoom in on kindness" and stand against bullying behaviors in all forms. I will "adjust my focus" by staying alert and reporting anything that doesn’t seem right. I will "capture responsibility" by owning my actions and following school rules. I will "develop the full picture" by working with others to build a safe, supportive school community.

Tornado Takeout summer meals are available beginning Monday, June 2! Summer meals are available for all children from birth to 18 years old, no matter what school district you attend. Meals will be available Monday - Friday from June 2 to August 1 . Hot lunch meals will be available daily with a breakfast given for the next day. On Friday children will get a breakfast & lunch for Saturday and Sunday and breakfast for Monday. Tornado Takeout will be closed on June 19 and July 4.

EARLY DISMISSAL TODAY****************** Due to the threat of severe weather, Paducah Public Schools will dismiss early today (Tuesday, May 20) . Here are the dismissal times: Paducah Tilghman High School: 12: 30 PM Paducah Middle School: 1:00 PM Clark Elementary: 1:00 PM Morgan Elementary: 1:30 PM McNabb Elementary: 1:30 PM Choices: 1:35 PM Due to the threat of severe weather, Paducah Head Start Preschool will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. today (Tuesday, May 20) for both morning session and full day students. The early dismissal will ensure that all our students and employees will be home before the severe weather begins. All Paducah Public Schools after school activities, including ESS and athletics, are canceled due to the threat of severe weather.

Preschool screening for the 2025-26 school year will be held at Paducah Head Start Preschool, 2200 Washington Street, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 2, 2025. You may register your child for a preschool screening if they will be three or four years old by August 1, 2025. Appointments are encouraged. Walk-ins will be screened as time allows. Paducah Public Schools Board of Education appointed Amina Watkins to board member tonight at a special called meeting. She will serve the remainder of Dr. James Hudson's term after a relocation took him outside the city limits. The board interviewed five other candidates before selecting Watkins. Board Member Janice Howard says, "During the selection process, we were really impressed by how much each candidate loves our schools. And we thank them for their support. We are fortunate to live in a community that values our kids’ education. We found Amina Watkins to be exceptionally passionate about education and how it can make students happy, healthy, and successful." Watkins's first regular board meeting will be Monday, May 12.
