Hey, Tornado Family!
Here is a reminder about the plan of action that we follow when we have winter weather.

Paducah Public School families,
Putting staff and student safety first, the district will be using non-traditional instruction (NTI) tomorrow, January 18th. Some side road conditions along bus routes are still unsafe. In addition, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory forecasting freezing rain for tomorrow at 10 am that could make midday and afternoon travel hazardous for buses, students and staff.
Your student’s school has shared expectations for NTI days. School leaders will send reminders, as well.
The last two snow days and tomorrow’s NTI day do not impact the board-approved school calendar this year. The last day for students is still Wednesday, May 22nd, as scheduled.

PPS Parents: Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17th, all Paducah City Schools will be closed due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. This will be a regular Snow Day, not an NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) Day.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th, all Paducah City Schools will be closed due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. This will be a regular Snow Day, not an NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) Day.

For 160 years the city of Paducah has valued quality education for our children as a fundamental foundation for success in life. We are grateful to Felix Akojie, Carl LeBuhn, Mary Hunter Hancock, Janice Howard, and James Hudson for their contributions to our community through their service on the Paducah Board of Education. Thank you!

Good news for families: Kentucky's Summer P-EBT plan is approved, and benefits will be issued on or around Nov. 15. Total reimbursement is $120 per eligible student. Enrollment in Summer P-EBT is automatic for public and private school students. Fall Break for Paducah Public Schools will begin Monday, October 2 and continue through Monday, October 9. We hope you enjoy a peaceful and relaxing Fall Break!

The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel have designated Wednesday September 13 as statewide “High Attendance Day” to emphasize that consistent attendance is essential for success in school. Paducah Public Schools are working hard on improving our district wide attendance, because we know that students who are at school on time have a higher success rate than those who aren't.
On High Attendance Day, Kentucky’s public elementary, middle and high schools may compete in small-school or large-school categories. Six winners will be determined statewide based on each individual school’s performance, regardless of its district’s showing. The school in each category with the highest percentage attendance for September 13 will receive a minimum $500. If the school has more than 500 students, the award will increase based on enrollment.
