All activities and practices for Paducah Public Schools that are scheduled for 4:30 PM or later today have been canceled due to potential icy weather.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southern portions of the Quad State from 3:00 PM this afternoon through 9:00 AM Tuesday. The primary concern will be icing due to freezing rain and the resultant travel problems.

Paducah Head Start Preschool received the WKCTC Guarantee Community Connections Service Award at a ceremony at WKCTC on December 15, along with the Family Resource Centers at all the schools and the Paducah Innovation Hub. Paducah Head Start Preschool director Kristy Lewis, McNabb Elementary principal Teresa Spann, and McNabb Elementary Family Resource Center director Toya Benberry attended the ceremony/press conference.
Two years ago, WKCTC received a very generous gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, with a focus on enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion at our college and in our communities. In April of 2021, The WKCTC Guarantee was established, which provided direct financial support and scholarship allotment to organizations working to increase educational opportunities for minority populations, low-income individuals, and others who have faced barriers to education, and to enhance collaborations with community organizations who serve vulnerable populations. As part of The WKCTC Guarantee initiative, additional Community Connections Service Awards will be presented to selected organizations on the two year anniversary of the original gift.
