The PATC Health Science Program held a pinning ceremony for students who received certifications that will allow them to work in healthcare on Monday, May 6 at the Paducah Innovation Hub. Ten students became Certified Phlebotomy Technicians and 13 became Certified Patient Care Technicians. They took national exams to receive these certifications. To honor their hard work, they were awarded pins by their instructors and celebrated with family and loved ones in attendance. Paducah Public Schools will dismiss early today due to inclement weather. Dismissal Schedule: PTHS, Choices and Paducah Middle: 11:30 a.m. Clark and Morgan: 12:15 p.m. McNabb and Head Start: 1:00 p.m. There will be no afternoon Head Start. All after school activities are canceled. This will insure that all our students and staff are safely home by 2:00 p.m.

Brody Yarbrough, an Auto Tech student at the Paducah Area Technical Center, brought in his 2021 MasterSbilt Late Model dirt track racer for some maintenance today. Brody has been racing for almost a year on dirt tracks and said he likes everything about it. You can catch him this summer at Paducah International Raceway!

PATC Auto Tech students from around the region has their skills tested last week at the Skills USA competition. Skills USA is an organization that tests students' skills in the career pathway they are pursuing. Auto Tech students were given 10 minutes to diagnose common car issues like engine problems, electrical problems, and starting problems. Tilghman's own Bennett Wilke placed second and Ethan Burdette placed third overall with nine schools competing.

We're please to welcome Crystal Ware as our new Paducah Innovation Hub receptionist and Central Office secretary! Born in Jackson, Tennessee, Crystal spent most of her adult years in Union City, Tennessee before moving to Paducah. Crystal is married to her husband Cheo Ware. They have four children and four grandchildren. Crystal has diverse work experience spanning 12 years in administrative and entry-level accounting roles. Crystal enjoys showing love though cooking for family and friends as she experiments with new recipes. She also loves attending sporting events with her family. "I'm excited about building a community in Paducah," Crystal said. "I look forward to getting involved, volunteering my time, and making meaningful connections with fellow residents. We are eager to explore all that Paducah has to offer!"
