The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel have designated Wednesday September 13 as statewide “High Attendance Day” to emphasize that consistent attendance is essential for success in school. Paducah Public Schools are working hard on improving our district wide attendance, because we know that students who are at school on time have a higher success rate than those who aren't.
On High Attendance Day, Kentucky’s public elementary, middle and high schools may compete in small-school or large-school categories. Six winners will be determined statewide based on each individual school’s performance, regardless of its district’s showing. The school in each category with the highest percentage attendance for September 13 will receive a minimum $500. If the school has more than 500 students, the award will increase based on enrollment.
Representatives from Ingram Barge talked with PATC welding students about the river industry and job opportunities that are available. Ingram plans to offer co-ops to select welding students this year with wages starting at $18.75 per hour.

A local summer camp is on a mission to expose students to new career paths by teaching fun and innovative classes. Thursday's lesson was on drones. PTHS SEAC (Student Equity Advisory Council) will conduct their final forum of the year on Thursday, May 11, 5:00 PM, at Seaman's Church Institute. The forum is open to the community. The theme of the forum is “Unity in the Community.” All who plan to attend should click on the QR code to register.
