We are proud to announce that Morgan Elementary’s music teacher, Ms. Liberty Guyette, has been named the KMEA Elementary Music Teacher of the Year! Ms. Guyette is a first year teacher and a Tilghman alumnus, which makes her honor especially noteworthy.

This honor is well deserved. In her first year of teaching, Ms. Liberty has done an incredible job engaging students and helping them fall in love with music. Her classes are active and meaningful, with students learning music theory, playing instruments, and singing.

She orchestrated a wonderful K–3 Christmas program and led students 4/5 students in "Willy Wonka Kids", in partnership with Market House Theater. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure all students can participate, even adapting instruments to meet their needs.

Ms. Liberty’s passion for music and dedication to her students shine through in everything she does. She has been an amazing addition to Morgan Elementary, and it’s no surprise that KMEA recognized her as Elementary Music Teacher of the Year.
