Head Coach Sean Thompson shared the podium to preview the high school football season at today's Paducah Rotary Club luncheon.
Always an ambassador for our school, Coach Thompson reminded Rotarians, "When you walk the halls of Tilghman, you see the world." Just like coach, we're proud to partner with students and families from many places and spaces.
We're all about academics, but Coach Thompson also shared how he is guiding students to lead and find their unique voice as they journey to adulthood.
Thank you for the invitation, Paducah Rotary Club!

We appreciate the recent donation of a cello by the estate of Charles Roy Manchester. The cello was presented to strings instructor Daniel Thomas by Mr. Manchester’s niece, Cathy Hart, and her husband Mark on August 10.
Mr. Manchester, a Tilghman alumnus, was a public-school orchestra teacher and symphony manager for 20 years in Mobile, Alabama. Upon returning to Paducah in 1981, he was Executive Director of the Downtown Development Association for three years, then served simultaneously as Executive Director of the Market House Museum and General Manager of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra for fifteen years and continued with the symphony until his retirement in 2000. He then continued with the Symphony in other roles until 2008. He maintained a private cello studio for over 50 years.
“We’re very appreciative of the donation from Mr. Manchester and the Harts,” said strings instructor Daniel Thomas. “We have a big sixth grade class of about 45 (students), so there will plenty of opportunities for this cello to be used.”
