Paducah Tilghman High School will host the West Kentucky College Expo Monday, September 19 from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm in the Paducah Tilghman High School Gymnasium. The West Kentucky College Expo is an opportunity for area high school students to meet alumni and representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities. Paducah Tilghman NJROTC cadets Landyn Burnett,Dontae Ellis-Maxwell and Preston Cruse were part of a Joint Color Guard with the SIU Air Force ROTC in the “Veterans on Parade” event in Marion, Illinois on September 9. Thanks for representing PTHS!

PTHS will host Back to School Night and the West Kentucky Regional College Expo on Monday, September 19 from 5:30-7:30 PM. Everyone will start in the auditorium. Then families will have the opportunity to meet teachers and tour PTHS. Following the teacher meet and greet families can go to the Paducah Innovation Hub and Dinning gym to meet representatives from various trades, careers, military branches, and colleges from across the nation to help students start planning for their future.

PTHS will offer free ACT Preparation sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 13 to September 29 from 2:15 - 3:15 p.m. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Here's a message from the Technology Department... Hello PTHS Parents!! Repaired student computers are now complete. We will be distributing them to your students this Thursday and Friday. In preparation, we will be sending this year’s device sign-out form home with the students. Please sign and have your student/s return their form this Thursday or Friday at the latest. We also have a digital copy of the form for you to print and sign if your student misplaces their paper copy. If your student already has their school issued device, we ask that you please still sign and return the form for the current school year. We appreciate all your patience and cooperation this year!

The Paducah Board of Education met with student representatives CoryOn Brooks and Jayda Reed prior to the August 15 board meeting to discuss ideas and expectations for the school year. With the goal of improving communication and student voice, CoryOn and Jayda will travel to our schools to get input, concerns, ideas and bring back to the Board.

All Paducah Public Schools offices will be closed Tuesday, August 2, so that all our employees can participate in professional development at the Paducah Public Schools Equity Institute. We will return to the office on Wednesday, August 3.

The Paducah Fire Department invites everyone to help local students through the Fill the Fire Truck with School Supplies campaign. Donations of school supplies and individually wrapped food items will be accepted through August 12 at any Paducah fire station and at City Hall. On Friday, August 5, the department will collect donations at the Southside Walmart (3220 Irvin Cobb Drive) from 9 until noon and at the West End Walmart (5130 Hinkleville Road) from 1 until 4 p.m. Below are suggested school supply items: Yellow #2 Pencils, Erasers, Black or Blue Ink Pens Plastic School Box Plastic Pocket Folders Composition Notebooks Loose Leaf Notebook paper Spiral Notebooks Highlighters Graph Paper Protractor Three-ring binders Glue Sticks Divider Tabs Printer Paper Reams Flash Drives Backpacks Individually wrapped food including fruit snacks, tuna salad kits, peanut butter or cheese crackers, potato chips, applesauce and fruit cups, and granola bars
