Paducah Tilghman baseball plays McCracken County tonight at Brooks Stadium. The Junior Varsity game begins at 4:30 PM. Senior baseball players will be honored between the JV and Varsity games. The varsity game will follow. Go Big Blue!

The PTHS vs. McCracken County (V/JV) Softball game scheduled for today has been postponed due to poor field conditions until Wednesday, May 10. Game time is 6:00 PM.

Paducah Head Start Parents-
All preschool classes will resume as normal tomorrow (Monday, May 8). All maintenance issues have been resolved.

Join us for the 93rd Annual Paducah Tilghman Band of Blue Ice Cream Festival on Saturday, May 13 at 11:30 a.m. in Dinning Gymnasium. Enjoy some delicious ice cream and treats along with performances by the PTHS Band of Blue and the Paducah Middle 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands.

Paducah Tilghman senior Clare Shirk has received a full appointment to the US Naval Academy Prep School and the US Naval Academy. Located in Annapolis, Maryland, the Naval Academy has an acceptance rate of 8%. All students who attend the US Naval Academy do so on full scholarship. In addition to scholarships that Shirk received for NROTC and VMI, her total scholarship offer is $625,000. Congratulations, Clare!


PTHS SEAC (Student Equity Advisory Council) will conduct their final forum of the year on Thursday, May 11, 5:00 PM, at Seaman's Church Institute. The forum is open to the community. The theme of the forum is “Unity in the Community.” All who plan to attend should click on the QR code to register.


The PTHS National History Day team, comprised of juniors Elena Adkins, Liam Black, and Azlyn Goodyke, took First Place in the state this past weekend in the National History Day (NHD) competition held at the University of Kentucky. They competed in the Senior Group Documentary division with their feature, “Keep on Pushing: The Amplification of Music and the Fight For Equality.” Their First Place finish qualifies them for the NHD national competition at the University of Maryland in June.


The PTHS Student Equity Advisory County shared a presentation on DEIB to the Paducah City Commission on April 25. They shared what the program was, the inception of the program, and invited the commissioners to attend the community forum on May 11. They did an outstanding job!
PTHS students interested in applying for SEAC for next year can pick up applications in Tornado Alley and the Paducah Innovation Hub. Applications and videos are due Friday, April 28.


Mr. Kenty was honored by the Murray State University College of Education and Human Services with the 2023 Outstanding Middle School Educator Award. The award was presented on April 25 at the Harry M. Sparks Distinguished Lecture Series. Congratulations, Mr. Kenty!


Paducah Middle seventh grader Calleigh Oldja placed second in the inaugural Western Kentucky Regional Competition of the National Civics Bee held on April 22 at the Carson Center. Seventh grader Sam Marcum also participated in the competition and advanced to the final round. To compete in the Civics Bee, students had to submit a 500-word essay on a local topic. The subject of Calleigh's essay was inequality and income discrimination. Calleigh won $500 and will advance to the state competition. Way to go, Calleigh and Sam!



The PTHS Abilities Class made good use of the recent warm weather to complete a garden project. A private donor gave three planters to the class: two mobile planters plus a larger outdoor planter that was installed in the Paducah Innovation Hub courtyard. The Four Seasons Garden Club contributed soil, plants and supplies to the the project. The Abilities Class filled the planters with soil and planted vegetables, greens and herbs that will be used by PPS Nutrition Services. We appreciate our donors, Ms. Morehead and Ms. Griggs, and the Abilities Class for their efforts!








The Kentucky Class 2A Softball Tournament will be held at Jack C Fisher Park in Owensboro April 22. The bracket has changed. Please see the attached image for the updated bracket.
