PTHS SEAC (Student Equity Advisory Council) will conduct their final forum of the year on Thursday, May 11, 5:00 PM, at Seaman's Church Institute. The forum is open to the community. The theme of the forum is “Unity in the Community.” All who plan to attend should click on the QR code to register.


Mr. Kenty was honored by the Murray State University College of Education and Human Services with the 2023 Outstanding Middle School Educator Award. The award was presented on April 25 at the Harry M. Sparks Distinguished Lecture Series. Congratulations, Mr. Kenty!


Paducah Middle seventh grader Calleigh Oldja placed second in the inaugural Western Kentucky Regional Competition of the National Civics Bee held on April 22 at the Carson Center. Seventh grader Sam Marcum also participated in the competition and advanced to the final round. To compete in the Civics Bee, students had to submit a 500-word essay on a local topic. The subject of Calleigh's essay was inequality and income discrimination. Calleigh won $500 and will advance to the state competition. Way to go, Calleigh and Sam!



Paducah Middle seventh graders Sam Marcum and Calleigh Oldja are among 20 finalists who have been selected to participate in the Western Kentucky Regional Civics Bee. The competition will take place on April 22 at the Carson Center in Paducah.
The civics bee is an initiative by the Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation aimed at encouraging more young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.

The Paducah Tilghman Student Equity Advisory Council (SEAC) will host a student-led parent forum Tuesday, April 11, 5:00 PM at the Seaman's Church Institute, 129 South Water Street. All PPS parents are welcome. Please see the flyer for more information.


Paducah Middle students competed in the Murray State Phi Alpha Theta annual History Day competition where regional middle and high schools come to Murray State to compete for prizes in World and U.S. history. These 8th-grade students completed a 150-question examination and took 3rd place in the US History competition and Caroline Adkins finished 2nd place overall.

Reminder: There's no school for students tomorrow (Friday, March 17). It's a professional development day for teachers. Enjoy the long weekend!


Eighth grade parents and students, please join us at the PTHS Auditorium on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:00 PM for 8th Grade Transition Night. Auditorium doors open at 5:45.
You will have the opportunity to learn about your 9th grade schedule, meet your teachers, and explore career pathways, clubs and activities.
There will be an AP information session prior to the event at 5:30 PM in the PT Library. There will be a greeter at the auditorium entrance to let parents in for the AP session.

There will be a Winter Sports end-of-year banquet for Paducah Middle School Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling and Cheerleaders on Thursday, March 2nd at 6:00 PM at the Paducah Middle School Cafeteria.
Coach Hamilton requests the help of parent volunteers to help decorate and also clean up after the event. Volunteers for decorating should be present at 4:00 PM on March 2.

The group will be traveling to Cincinnati February 22-25 for the honor choir rehearsal and performance.


The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) has declared February 15th as School Resource Officer Appreciation Day.
