As we begin our fall sports seasons, please be reminded that all students from kindergarten through 8th grade, regardless of school district, must be accompanied by an adult at all PPS school and athletic events. Students from kindergarten through 8th grade will not be admitted to games without an adult in attendance.

Members of the PTHS NJROTC Unit assisted with several events to commemorate September 11. The first vigil included a flag display, standing watch and the playing of Taps at 9:28 a.m Wednesday morning. The second event was the Veterans of Foreign Wars 9/11 ceremony at Dolly McNutt Plaza on Wednesday afternoon. The third event is the pregame color guard for the Powder Puff game PTHS at 7:00 p.m. Thank you PTHS NJROTC for helping us remember this solemn anniversary.



Students in grades 7-12 are invited to Loqui, which will be held at Etcetera on Wednesday, September 11 at 4:30 p.m. There will be free drinks and snacks. Join us for conversation about belonging, community, mental health and empowering young voices.


PT sophomore McCall Moore shot a 4-over-par 76 to finish as runner-up at the Kentucky 2A State golf championships held at Owensboro Country Club on Monday.
“I was due for a good round and I just put it all together,” Moore said. “It’s definitely a confidence booster for me, finishing strong at 2A State and heading into the regional tournament. It was definitely an honor to represent Paducah Tilghman. It’s an honor to be part of our athletic excellence and I like being the only girl and having coach Charli Doss with me throughout my round.”
Moore, along with the PTHS boys team, will compete at the Region 1 golf tournament on Drake Creek Golf Club on September 24.

PTHS clubs are beginning to meet! Here's a reminder of club meetings this week. It's also an opportunity to introduce you to PTHS Communications intern Russell Hancock. Russell is working with PPS Communications on graphics and marketing- the attached graphic is an example of his work. Welcome, Russell!


All high school students and parents from across the region are invited to the Western Kentucky Regional College Expo at Paducah Tilghman High School on Tuesday, September 17 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Dozens of colleges and universities will be happy to talk with you about the college application process. Save the date!

It's Mayfield Week! If you're traveling to Mayfield for Friday's game, here's what you need to know.



Baptist Health will provide a free Flu Vaccine Clinic Monday, October 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Paducah Middle School gymnasium at 342 Lone Oak Road. This event is available to everyone at no cost, regardless of insurance.

With the heat outside we are extra thankful for the brand-new indoor practice facility at Paducah Head Start. It is an indoor play space for our Head Start students during the school day, and an indoor practice facility for our high school students after school!

The PTHS Boys Golf team competed at the Christian County Invite on August 24. The team placed 5th overall with career-low rounds had by Evan Hack and Gray Edwards. Evan Hack placed 3rd with a score of 69.
PTHS golfer McCall Moore played at the Massac County Invitational this weekend. She played her way to a Top-10 finish.
A couple weeks ago both boys and girls competed at Drake Creek in the Graves Invite. The boys placed 5th overall with Evan Hack leading the way with a 72.



While Friday night officially kicked off the 2024 high school football season, Saturday night was the start for Paducah Tilghman and McCracken County. They competed in the 11th annual Rumble on the River at McRight Field where the Blue Tornado won their sixth straight over the Mustangs in a 41-16 victory.

The Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado shut out St. Mary on the pitch Monday night when they won by a score of 8-0. The Tornado did not let up the whole game, controlling the ball and creating shots to overwhelm the St. Mary defense.

The PTHS Boys Golf team had a career-low team score of 305 to finish in 2nd place, just two shots behind Marshall County, at the Paducah Tilghman Invitational held at Paxton Park on August 10. Evan Hack led the way with a Tied-1st finish falling just short in a 3-way playoff. PT senior Peyton Toon had a Top-5 finish as well. Three girls from Tilghman and Paducah Middle played in the event in the afternoon. McCall Moore finished just outside the Top-5 shooting a 78 to finish sixth.
It was a great day on the golf course competing in a top-tier field of competition from all over the region and state.


Paducah Tilghman Golf is off to an exciting start to the season. Here are some recent highlights:
The PTHS Boys Team placed 3rd overall with a team low score of 316 in the Marshall County Invitational. They were led by senior Peyton Toon shooting a 73 and earning 3rd as an individual. For the PTHS Girls, McCall Moore shot a 84 and finished in the top ten.
McCall Moore had a season highlight traveling to the South Warren Invitational at Park Mammoth. She shot a 78 and gained another top ten finish.
Peyton Toon shot a 1-under par 71, good enough for a 4th place finish in the next event at Hopkinsville Country Club. The team tied the team low score of 316 and finished 6th. For the PTHS Girls, McCall Moore shot a 79 and finished in the Top-20.
At the 2A Regional Qualifier at Miller Memorial GC, the boys came in first place in front of Murray High. They were led by freshmen Evan Hack shooting a 1-under par 34. (The event was cut to 9-holes due to heat.) For the PTHS Girls McCall Moore finished in 3rd individually. PTHS will compete in the 2A State at Owensboro CC next month.
PTHS traveled to the Greenwood Invite to play at Bowling Green Country Club. The boys were led by freshmen Evan Hack shooting a 1-over par, 73. He earned a 2nd place finish. McCall Moore placed in the Top-20 out of 80 individuals shooting 82.
