Federal Student Aid

This government website provides information about the types of federal financial aid--grants, loans, and work study--that students may qualify for based on financial need in order to help pay for post-secondary education. The process to obtain this money is also covered.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

This government website is where seniors must go after October 1st of senior year to complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA is the application for federal and student aid to help with post-secondary education expenses. For students entering college in Fall 2020, they would complete the 2020-2021 FAFSA. You should never pay to complete the FAFSA. The process is FREE. Make sure you use the government website.

Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA)

KHEAA provides state financial aid programs including KEES to help students pay for college.

Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarship (KEES)

KEES is a scholarship program where students can earn money for their yearly GPA, ACT scores, and Advanced Placement (AP) scores. The chart on this website explains what amounts students may earn.

Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship

The Kentucky Work Ready Scholarship is funded through the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA). The scholarship application period opens in MAY. High school students or college students who have graduated high school and been accepted into an approved and high demand degree or certificate program that leads to industry certification may apply. Must not have earned an associate's degree or higher previously. Qualifying areas for the 2018-2019 year were health care, advanced manufacturing (welding, machine tool, and more), transportation/logistics, business services/IT, and construction. All of these programs are available at WKCTC. The steps to apply are completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and an application on the KHEAA website.

WKCTC Community Scholarship

The WKCTC Community Scholarship Program covers the tuition for up to 60 credits hours at WKCTC. Students are automatically enrolled in the program during their 9th grade year at a participating high school. In order to get the scholarship, students must graduate with a 2.5 GPA, 95% cumulative attendance record over four years in high school, no major discipline infractions, complete high school in four years, complete the FAFSA during senior year, take GEN 100 (tuition free) during senior year, and enroll in WKCTC in the fall after high school graduation. Academic Common Market

The Academic Common Market offers in-state tuition to some out of state colleges if the major you want to student is not offered at any college in the state where you live. Some stipulations do apply.
