Allen Treece

Allen Treece has been named Community Schools Director for Paducah Public Schools. The new position is being funded through a four-year grant from the Prichard Committee’s Kentucky Community Schools Initiative. He will begin his new position on December 6.

The Prichard Committee received a $47 million grant from the United States Department of Education, with $30 million of the grant going directly into the Kentucky education system through the implementation of full-service community schools, known as the Kentucky Community School Initiative.

The initiative is built on an evidence-based model that has been shown to significantly improve educational outcomes. The research demonstrates that effectively implemented community schools result in improved student achievement, reduced dropout rates, higher college enrollment, and better overall health and well-being for students and families—especially in high-poverty schools.

The model is structured around four foundational pillars for student success and includes:

  •  Active family and community engagement

  •  Expanded and enriched learning times

  •  Integrated supports

  • Collaborative leadership and practices to support high-quality teaching

The community schools director is accountable to grant deliverables, data requirements, and routine check-ins with Prichard Committee staff.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Treece to our district,” said assistant superintendent Will Black. “He brings significant knowledge and experience in serving families through the Boys and Girls Club. He knows our community, and he understands the importance of aligning community resources to improve student outcomes.”

Treece was executive director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Missouri from 2018 – 2022. Prior to that, he was executive director for Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club of Paducah from 2010 to 2015. He has a bachelor's degree in park and recreation and a master's degree in sports administration from Western Kentucky University.
