July Jumpstart

More than 70 students were involved in a Jumpstart/Leadership experience July 14-17 at Paducah Middle School that focused on specific academic, social/emotional and leadership targets in preparation for the new school year.

The first day of each camp was centered around a house theme with cheers and chants to get the spirit going.  The second day was locked in on Tornado Pride.  Although it sounds small, every sixth-grade student participant can open a locker, and each realizes that they will be leading others by assisting with the same task once the first day of school arrives.  In addition to working toward a variety of standards,  all students were involved in more than one Paducah Middle community service project.

Paducah Middle School collaborated with Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club, Paducah Day Nursery, our district transportation and food services departments to transport and feed participating students.   PM is grateful following educators for their work on behalf of July Jumpstart:  Mrs. Shanetha Donaldson, Mrs. Terica Patterson, Ms. Emily Goehman and Ms. Lynnette Harris.  We're also appreciate the support of Mrs. Newsome, Ms. Townzen and  Coach J. Harris, Coach McDermott and Coach Wyatt.
