PTHS rising senior Clare Shirk attended the US Naval Academy Summer Seminar in Annapolis, Maryland June 11 - 16.
800 candidates, who were divided into five companies of 160 candidates, participated in the seminar. Shirk was awarded Echo Company Outstanding Candidate. She was the only female to be awarded an outstanding candidate award and only one of seven candidates out of the 800 to receive an individual award.
The USNA Summer Seminar is for rising seniors who are considering the US Naval Academy as their college of choice. The seminar introduces candidates to life at the Academy as they experience academic, athletic, and professional training.
