Sarah Anthony has been named Director of Special Programs for Paducah Public Schools. The Director of Special Services has oversight of Special Education, Section 504, preschool, and Family Resource Centers in the district.

Anthony has over 15 years of experience in education. She was a Special Education teacher and department chair at Paducah Tilghman High School for eleven and a half years. For the past four years, she served as an administrator within the Livingston County School District, serving as the principal for two years and as assistant principal for two years at South Livingston Elementary School.   

Anthony received her B.A. in Special Education from Murray State University. She earned an M.A.Ed. in Reading and Writing (P-12 Endorsement/Rank II Certification), and an M.A.Ed. in School Administration Level I and II and Special Education Directorship Level II through Murray State University. She is currently pursuing an M.A. Ed. as an Educational Specialist with an anticipated graduation date of May 2023.

Anthony was selected as a principal in Kentucky to participate in The Leadership Institute for School Principals Cohort for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. This is an executive-level leadership training program that focuses on developing and mastering key leadership dynamics in principals across the state. She was also one of 58 female educators across the Commonwealth inducted into the 2022 cohort of the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership (KWEL).

Anthony is married and has four children. Together she and her husband, Chris, are raising their son Noah in Paducah. Her three stepchildren, Makayla, Drake, and Lidia live in Missouri and Arkansas. 

“I have a passion for working within the educational field and look forward to continuing my leadership journey within the Paducah Public School system by making a difference daily,” said Anthony. “I will strive to value individuality and meet the needs of each and every student I encounter.”
