
Last month's meeting of the Paducah Board of Education included recognitions of some outstanding groups of students and staff!
1) A group of Morgan staff were named Dukes and Duchesses of Paducah in recognition of their efforts to resuscitate a fellow teacher when she went into cardiac arrest.
2) McKayla Everly and Heather Anderson received the Whitlow Commitment to Excellence Award for the 23-24 school year. The Whitlow Award recognizes one classified employee and one certified employee who demonstate superior dedication and service to Paducah Public Schools.
3) Morgan Elementary Youth Coding League team members Brycen Collins, Kamarion Mayes, and Issac Jachim (not pictured) were recognized for placing 4th overall out of 42 YCL teams that competed.
4) PTHS Art students who placed at the state Art competition were honored. Eleanor Hammonds placed 1st in Fiber Arts, Cierra Franklin placed 2nd in Ceramics, Ben Coltharp placed 3rd in Sculpture, and Caden Hargrove was Honorable Mention.
4) Junior board member Bryleigh Heal was recognized for her work on the behalf of the Paducah BOE for the 2023-24 school year. She will receive a $500 scholarship.
5) Madelyn Doschniak and Kenya “KJ” Wade Jr., who will serve as junior board members for the 2024-25 school year, were introduced.
6) The Student Equity Advisory Committee members for the 2024-25 school year were introduced. Our next board meeting will be next Monday, June 16, at 5:00 p.m. As always, visitors are welcome! The Paducah Innovation Hub will offer a three-day CTE Summer Academy to rising 9th graders.
The CTE Summer Academy will be held June 25-27 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day.

Paducah Innovation Hub principal Steve Ybarzabal presented the creative strategies being used at the Paducah Innovation Hub at "Pathways to Progress: Workforce Strategies for Kentucky's Emerging Adults". The seminar was hosted by the Louisville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Thanks for representing the Paducah Innovation Hub, Mr. Ybarzabal!


FRYSC AmeriCorps is seeking a literacy tutor to work with students at McNabb Elementary. FRYSC Corps members serve in schools helping students build reading skills and support basic needs through the Family Resource and Youth Services Center.

The 17th Annual Paducah Public Schools Foundation Golf Scramble will be held on Friday, August 2, at Paxton Park. Registration is at 8:00 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.

Parents of rising sixth graders: Calling ALL RISING 6th Graders coming to PMS for the ‘24-‘25 school year! Band & Choir sign ups are MONDAY, MAY 20th from 4-7pm. Students who want to be in the Paducah Middle Band Program &/or the Paducah Middle Choir Program need to park in the back of Paducah Middle and follow the signs to the back band room doors. It is a “free-flowing” sign up— come any time between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. and depending on how many people are in front of you, it could take 10-20 minutes. A parent/guardian must accompany the incoming 6th grader. The 6th grader must be present to sign up.
